A cold spring.

Here in Southern Wisconsin it's been a coll spring. We had one day where it was 85 degrees, and I was in Washington D.C. then, and the rest of the days here it's barely been in the upper 40's! Needless to say I'm itching for tennis weather.

A week ago was my Grandma's 80th surprise birthday party. And boy was she surprised!!! Here's a couple of photos of the table runner I whipped up for her.

I didn't use a pattern, I just drew up what I wanted on graph paper. Never underestimate the power of graph paper and a pen!

Now on to a bigger project that I've been commissioned for! :) I won't be posting those photos out of fairness for the person I'm making it for. Once they receive the finished product, I'll be sure and put them up!

Thanks for taking time out of your day to read my blog, I know I've been slacking lately, and now that summer's hopefully around the corner, there's no promises that I'll be posting more often.

If it's beautiful where you are go out in your garden, take a walk, play some tennis, or just sit out on your favorite park bench. Until next time, happy quilting!

Two more projects off my list!

I finally trimmed and bound my weird piece to put on my studio wall. What should I call it though? I have no idea. Do you have any ideas?

I love the backing fabric. I saw it in my quilt shop and knew I had to use it as the backing! :)

I've been working on this table runner for a while now. I made it a little bit larger than the pattern called for (I really like the fabric and wanted to cut it at strategic places!) and so I ran out of the white blocks in the border. I thought it'd be no problem matching the marble to it, but it ended up being more difficult than I thought! I eventually had to use the WRONG side of a fabric! But I can't even tell where one ends and the other begins it matches so well! That'll teach me to think there are "rules" with using fabric! Anything goes!

More past quilts.....

This quilt I made over a year ago for my boyfriends sister, Carrie. She's really more of a purple/blue person, but I thought this would be fun and add a bit of color! :) There's over 33 different colors pieced in this quilt.

This little quilt I made for my great aunt. The colors aren't necessarily hers, but she bought a french style love seat at a garage sale and these colors match it.

This last pic is of a table runner I whipped up in 2009 before I sewed the binding on the back. It's a Kim Schaefer pattern, and all of the fabrics are hers! It goes great on the coffee table! :)

Holy moly! There's still more quilts that I have to catch up on! Only a few more to put up here before I'm all caught up!

Well, it's time for me to run! I'm headed out to dinner at Mo's Irish Pub! I love that place! They have some of the best food around! Don't wait up for me! :) I'll post again soon!
